France Media – August 2025 – ‘Co-President | CEO Aaron Neighbors Moderates InterFace Multifamily Conference’

On August 18 at France Media’s InterFace Kansas City 2026 Multifamily Conference, Aaron Neighbors led a lively discussion covering the trends and challenges shaping the apartment and Build-to-Rent market across the Kansas City region. Tariffs, material costs, code requirements, amenity design and much more were all covered by the ‘Trends in Design & Construction’ panel which included Natalya Steinke, Liza Kapisak, Katie Martinovic, Tony Coviello and Paul Stark.

Hosted at The Westin Crown Center in downtown Kansas City, our team was on hand at our booth as part of our participation, and it was beneficial to get out of the office and engage with our local KC multifamily development community.

MetroWire Media – June 2025 – ‘Mission Flats: Downtown Living with Style in JoCo’

Big things are happening in downtown Mission, and they come in boutique-sized packages. Mission Flats, this ownership group’s first new-build project in KC, is bringing sleek design and walkable charm to one of Johnson County’s most connected neighborhoods.
Located just off Johnson Drive and Nall Avenue, this 89,795-square-foot multifamily development includes two buildings with 77 modern units—ranging from studios to two-bedrooms—plus two ADA-accessible residences and 25 attached garages. Designed by Klover Architects, the buildings blend thin brick and cementitious siding for a crisp, contemporary feel.
“This is our team’s first ground-up build with Klover and Mission Flats, LLC, and we’re proud to bring this new project into such a well-established neighborhood,” said Travis Lavender, project manager for Neighbors Construction Co, Inc., the project’s general contractor. “The site has pretty substantial grade changes, which presented some challenges getting out of the ground, but we’ve worked hand-in-hand with Klover to overcome those issues and now the buildings are really coming along. The City of Mission, and Johnson Drive in particular, are very dynamic areas that are always changing and improving, and we’re excited to be a part of those improvements.”

MetroWire Media – May 2025 – ‘Ellis Glen Summer 2025 Opening in Downtown Lee’s Summit’

Ellis Glen, downtown Lee’s Summit’s first urban infill mixed-use development since 2001, is on track for July 2025 completion. Developed by Integrity Group Real Estate, the 34,324-square-foot project is replacing a long-blighted parcel with a modern, walkable development just steps from restaurants, retail, and the future Downtown Farmer’s Market.

MetroWire Media – May 2025 – ‘Neighbors Construction Breaks Ground on CORE II at Berkley Riverfront’

Neighbors Construction has began construction on CORE II, the 28th project the firm has built for NorthPoint Development. Located next to the original CORE Luxury Apartments along Kansas City’s Berkley Riverfront, the second-phase project includes 153 units and spans more than 196,000 square feet of mixed-use space.

Designed by NSPJ Architects, the building will feature a two-story clubhouse, rooftop gathering spaces, and a podium-style layout with indoor parking. Structural columns are currently being poured, with framing expected in the coming months.

Aaron Neighbors, Vice President and Project Manager at Neighbors Construction states, ‘In building this close to the Missouri River, the sandy subgrade has required 40-foot-deep rigid inclusions to ensure stability, and there have been some buried foundations that we’ve had to deal with, but our team has done a great job tackling these obstacles. We appreciate our partnership with the ownership and design teams to get the project off the ground.’

The project continues Neighbors Construction’s role in reshaping the riverfront corridor, and leads into its milestone 75th year in business in 2026.
